Compressor surge can sound different on every car, but for the most part it's sounds like a bunch of air being pressurized in to an air tank. All it is the air from the turbo backing up oin itself once the throttlebody closes since there is no BOV to release this over pressure it makes that sound. The other video clips are just regular BOV sound clips.

I love the sound of compressor surge. Im thinking about getting a block off plate for the hks ssqv. Im only runnning 8-9 pounds so im pretty sure the CS wouldnt be a problem. If I was running anything other then that, I wouldnt run no bov.
Get a little bit of a faster responce.

Comp surge hurts the turbo, however in my opinion it's not as bad as many people think. So for example if you have a turbo and it was going to last 2 years before the bearings went out with a BOV then it would prolly go out at about 1 1/2 years without a BOV. As far as response there is not much difference between running a BOV and not running a BOV. They only time u see a difference in spool/response is when you are running a stock BOV cuz they never close 100% so some of the intake charge is always being recirculated back into the intake tube.

Reminds like ppl sound so worried about the amount of tires that gets worn down from having a welded diff!! like OMG how much tire does it waste!!

Well, if your making more then stock boost, the responce would be a little better with no BOV because with a BOV it releases everything until back on the throttle. Especially with higher boost levels.
